Correspondents from representatives of Bristol University to WSC [Chancellor of Bristol University] include: Sir Philip Morris, Vice Chancellor, on subjects including the use of WSC's coat of arms at Churchill Hall, the visit by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, a gift from the Sir Winston Churchill Birthday trust, the conferment of honorary degrees, WSC's visit to the University in 1954 and a portrait of WSC (20); Alan Reynolds, Warden of Churchill Hall (5); James Orr, Private Secretary to the Duke of Edinburgh on the Duke's visit to the University; H Butterfield, Registrar, on appointments to the University Court (3); and Walter Stanton, Professor of Music.Also includes: copies of correspondence from WSC to the individuals mentioned above; notes and copies of correspondence from Elizabeth Gilliatt and Gillian Maturin [Secretaries to WSC] and Anthony Montague Browne [Private Secretary to WSC]; photographs of the University and a copy of "Nonesuch News" a publication by the University's union.
