Correspondents on WSC's retirement from the House of Commons include: Harold Macmillan [later 1st Lord Stockton], Prime Minister, with Hansard copies of his statement on WSC and the House of Commons motion; Sir Robert Menzies, Prime Minister of Australia, on a motion carried by the Australian House of Representatives; Sir Thomas MacDonald, High Commissioner for New Zealand in London with a message from the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Keith Holyoake; Sir Ronald Algie, Speaker of the New Zealand House of Representatives; Peter Moon and Nicholaas Huijsman, Private Secretaries to Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations; Sir Evelyn Hone, Governor of Northern Rhodesia [later Zambia] with a message from the legislative assembly; Leslie Rowan; John Cotton, Consul-General, Sao Paulo, Brazil; Paul Struye, President of the Belgian Senate; and Alastair Maitland, British Consul General, Cleveland, Ohio [United States].Also includes: copies of replies sent by WSC to the individuals mentioned above; notes and copies of correspondence from Anthony Montague Browne [Private Secretary to WSC] and Doreen Pugh [Secretary to WSC]; and newspaper cuttings.
