Correspondents (concerning gifts to WSC) include: Terence Grady and John Graham [Assistant Private Secretaries to Foreign Secretary]; Sidney Toy (3); Catherine Vesey-Fitzgerald; Vera Weizmann; "Orlo" [Orlando] Williams; Sir Edward Bridges, Permanent Secretary to the Treasury; Brigadier-General Sir Ormonde Winter; H Nishi, Japanese Ambassador to the United Kingdom; Shigeru Yoshida, former Prime Minister of Japan; and Sir Esler Dening, British Ambassador to Japan.Also includes: notes and copies of correspondence from WSC to the individuals mentioned above; pamphlets including "A third fable in verse" by Sydney, Lord Godolphin (printed in 1818); photographs; postcards; a pen and ink drawing of Lord Randolph Churchill and his political contemporaries (dating to 1893); objects including a crucifix, seeds; and notes and copies of correspondence from R McHale, Gillian Maturin, Jane Portal [later Lady Williams of Elvel], Elizabeth Gilliatt, and Grace Hamblin [Secretaries to WSC] and John Colville and Anthony Montague Browne [Private Secretaries to WSC].Most of the material in the file dates to 1955-1958.
