Correspondents on WSC's visit include: James Senn on his butter machine (4); Ernest Bartschi, Mayor of Berne; Werner Balsiger, Chief of Swiss Police, and Max Maurer, Commissioner of Swiss Police. Also includes notes and copies of correspondence by M Staite, Lettice Marston [later Lettice Shillingford], Elizabeth Gilliatt, B Vogel and "N S" [Jo Sturdee, later Lady Onslow], WSC's secretaries. A large proportion of the papers in this file are in French or German.Other subjects include: invitations and gifts for WSC; requests for WSC's autograph, and signed photographs; requests for interviews with WSC; requests for visas; requests for funding and help in finding employment; a request to film WSC for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Limited.Also includes: press cuttings on WSC's visit; photographs; material on an international university sanatorium; pictures; a postcard of WSC; copies of notes and other material on the butter machine; lists of hours worked by WSC's secretaries.
