Correspondents on invitations for WSC's proposed visit to Canada include: Sir Harold Boulton; [Arthur] Hugh Molson; Frank Clarke, on subjects including George Marshall becoming [United States Secretary of State], Bernard Baruch's resignation from the Atomic Energy Commission, the political outlook in the United States, and keeping WSC in touch with the United States (8); George Drew, Prime Minister of Ontario province, on WSC receiving an honorary degree from the University of Toronto, and improving British relations with Canada; T E Lloyd, Chairman, Speakers' Committee, Empire Club of Canada (4); Sir George Harvie-Watt; Norman Robertson, High Commissioner for Canada in Britain; Vincent Massey, High Commissioner for Canada in Britain; Sidney Smith, President, University of Toronto; "Bobbety" [5th Lord Salisbury, earlier Lord Cranborne] on the Canadian attitude to Britain; George Mooney [Chairman, National Executive, United Nations Association, Canada].
