Correspondents on various aspects of the organisation of WSC's funeral and burial (code named "Operation Hope Not") include: Dugald Malcolm, Her Majesty's Vice Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps (2); John Walker, Lancaster Herald, on the guest list (17); Rodney Dennys (10); Kenneth Macintosh, Secretary to the Lord Great Chamberlain, on arrangements for the lying in state at Westminster Hall (3); Burke Trend, Secretary to the Cabinet; Kenneth Jamieson; Major Sir Ian Jardine; [17th Lord] Sinclair [earlier Charles St Clair], York Herald (3); and Sir Anthony Wagner, Garter Principal King of Arms.Also includes notes and copies of correspondence from Anthony Montague Browne [Private Secretary to WSC]; copies of letters to Randolph Churchill and CSC and from [1st Lord] Normanbrook; notes of meetings; details of the procedures to be employed at WSC's death; instructions for the Metropolitan Police; a list of orders and decorations which were awarded to WSC.Other subjects covered by the file include: potential arrangements for the transport of WSC's body from France; overseas representation at the funeral; and the selection of pall bearers.
