Includes letters asking to borrow or exhibit WSC's paintings from organisations and individuals including: [Evelyn] Basil Boothby, Counsellor at the British Embassy in Brussels [Belgium]; Nishinippon Shimburi [a Japanese newspaper]; the University of Nottingham; Sir Peter Scarlett, British Ambassador to Norway; William MacTaggart, President of the Royal Scottish Academy; Edward Halliday, President of the Royal Society of British Artists; Sir Roderick Barclay, British Ambassador to Denmark; the South Africa Art Gallery; Sir Robert Hankey, British Ambassador to Sweden; and Peter Thomas, MP. Also includes copies of replies from Anthony Montague Browne [Private Secretary to WSC] and Doreen Pugh [Secretary to WSC] declining the requests on behalf of WSC.
