Letter from WSC ("In the train", 4th Hussars, India) to "Jack" [John S Churchill] in which he apologises for not writing and explains that he has been very busy with his book ["The Story of the Malakand Field Force"]; he discusses the publication of the book and says he would have liked to correct the proofs himself; comments on the content; discusses his war experiences and his intention to go to Egypt and earn more medals; and advises him to go to Oxford [University]. Signed manuscript. Envelope present.
