Letter from "M" [Montagu Porch] (8 Cyprian's House, Coomassie, The Gold Coast [later Ghana]) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he expresses sympathy at the news that she has broken her ankle, but declares "I shall love you very much to make up for all the pain and anguish you have suffered". He describes his plans to return to England, says that his business has gone well and that he has met the Bishop of Accra; comments on the depth of his feelings for her and on his sorrow [that her leg has been amputated] and says that he intends to support her. Envelope present.
