Letter from WSC (6 Royal Scots Fusiliers in the Field [France]) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he describes his daily routine and living conditions; the events which he has organised for his battalion and the effects of heavy casualties on the men; discusses political affairs including the difficult position of "L G" [David Lloyd George], commenting "what a fool he was not to preserve his association with me"; makes observations on the evacuation of the Dardanelles and his conviction that it could have been successful and thanks her for financial assistance to CSC. Manuscript in the hand of WSC. Envelope present.
