Letter from "Archie" [Archibald] Kerr [later 1st Lord Inverchapel] (British Legation, Teheran [Persia, later Iran]) to Lady Randolph Churchill including: the difficulties of his work which have been exacerbated as "The Persian is physically incapable of telling the truth"; the arrival of Russian troops and the supremacy of the German troops and their allies in the provinces; speculation on WSC's resignation [as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster] and approval for his policies at the Admiralty; the effect of the failure of the Dardanelles expedition in the Balkans; the position of Greece; a denial that he was ever in love with Violet Keppel and the death of his brother.
