Letter from "Jack" [John S Churchill](General Headquarters, Mediterranean Expeditionary Force) to "Mama" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he informs her that the Dardanelles expedition has come to an end and that he has been sent to Egypt and awarded the Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur. He comments on dispatches from General Sir Ian Hamilton about the Dardanelles expedition "if you read between the lines you can see that everything he asked for was nearly always refused because it could not be spared from France" and says that he would like to return home.
