Scope and Contents
Letter from WSC (6th Royal Scots Fusiliers in the Field [France]) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he discusses [Herbert] Asquith's [later Lord Oxford and Asquith] treatment of him, commenting "having been an adventurer in my enterprises [a reference to the Dardanelles campaign]...he threw me over without the slightest effort even to state the true facts on my behalf", and reports that he is currently commanding the Fusiliers. Envelope present. Note that although the letter is dated 7 January 1916, context suggests it is 7 February 1916.
