Typescript transcript of a letter from Lord Randolph Churchill, Secretary of State for India, (Auchnashellach, Dingwall [Ross and Cromarty, Scotland]) to Sir Grant Duff [Governor of Madras, India] in which he thanks him for his memorandum on Central Asian affairs, comments on the settlement of the Zulficar [Afghanistan] dispute and the need for a successor to Sir Frederick Roberts (who he describes as "one of the pleasantest & most attractive men I ever came across") as Commander in Chief in Madras and on his good impression of Salar Jung.
