Scope and Contents
Part of a letter from [Hugh Rayner] ([Rhodesia, later Zambia and Zimbabwe]) to Lord Randolph Churchill in which he reports that he is about 90 miles from Mafeking [South Africa]; describes the difficulties of travelling in uncomfortable waggons; details the daily routine of the expedition; the scarcity of animals to hunt; informs him that he has found a horse for Lord Randolph and explains that his notes about incidents are "meagre".
