Letter from Marie [Duchess of Edinburgh](Malta) to Lady Randolph [Churchill] in which she thanks her for her letters; apologises for not writing previously; asks whether Lady Randolph can now understand why she misses Russia; comments on the "monotonous and unanimated" British society; says that she would like to see Lord Randolph [Churchill] and that she has heard that Queen [Victoria] is furious that he has visited Russia; reports that she is entertaining Captain Maurice Bourke and that all her children have had chicken pox.
