Letter from [Frances, Duchess of Marlborough] (Grand Hotel, Scarborough [Yorkshire]) to Jennie [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which she discusses the health of "R" [Lord Randolph Churchill]; says that she hopes that their visit to Japan will be exciting; reports that the whole family are going to write to [Lord Randolph]; gives news of "Jack" [John S Churchill] whom she describes as a "peaceful boy", WSC who is described as "volatile and impulsive" and Sarah [Wilson earlier Lady Sarah Churchill]; discusses gossip and reports that [Lord Randolph] may contest Bradford.
