Scope and Contents

Letter from [Frances, Duchess of Marlborough] (50 Grosvenor Square [London]) to Jennie [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which she discusses the health of [Lord Randolph Churchill]; says that she receives reports from Dr [Robson] Roose; asks Jennie to thank Dr Keith for his care of "R" [Lord Randolph]; and comments on discipline required for WSC, that Lady Edith Ward is flirting with Lord Chesterfield and on the recovery of her jewels. The second page of the letter is marked "private" and contains observations on [Lord Randolph's] obstinacy and refusal to recognise the gravity of his illness and on her anxiety about him.
