Scope and Contents

Letter from [Frances, Duchess of Marlborough] (Huntercombe [Berkshire]) to Jennie [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which she urges persistence with [Lord Randolph Churchill] and asks whether she has explained everything to him. She discusses a future interview with [Lord Randolph]; says that she does not want to leave [Lady Randolph] alone in London; urges her to seek the advice of her mother [Clara Jerome]; and says that she cannot understand Randolph being "so hard if he realises all you suffer" and that she does not think that there is "any other woman". Envelope present.
