Letter from [Frances, Duchess of Marlborough] (Huntercombe [Berkshire]) to Jennie [Lady Randolph Churchill] marked "confidential" in which she urges her not to harbour thoughts of revenge, to ward off her anxiety "by the exercises of Domestic Virtues!!!" and to see friends who are not jealous of her success in society. She also invites her and "Jack" [John S Churchill] to come and "vegetate" with her; discusses this "crise" [crisis] in her life and advises her to make herself essential to him [Lord Randolph Churchill].
