Letter from [Frances, Duchess of] Marlborough (Berrington Hill, Leominster [Herefordshire]) to "Jack" [John S Churchill] including: his holiday in Paris [France]; a description of the place in which she is staying; comments on the tenants of 50 [Grosvenor Square, London]; her regret that WSC had visited Newmarket [races]; the death of the Duchess of Roxburghe and the breakdown of [5th Lord] Rosebery during a speech. She comments "I feel so sad & miserable I find it difficult to write a cheery letter". Covering letter at CHAR 28/31/22.
