Letter from WSC (Assouan on the notepaper of 105 Mount Street) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] including: his illness; the progress of his [biography of Lord Randolph Churchill]; the assistance provided by [Sir Michael Hicks] Beach [later Lord St Alwyn]; disappointment in the temple at Carnac; difficulties between the Conservatives and the Trade Unions and his sympathy with the latter; and a request that she should look after "Jack" [John S Churchill] who is described as "untamed and forlorn".
