Letter from WSC (Ottawa [Canada] on the notepaper of 105 Mount Street) to Mrs Cornwallis-West [formerly Lady Randolph Churchill] asking her to choose souvenirs which he intends to give to those who helped him escape from the Boers; anticipating trouble for the government; expressing his dislike of the lecture tour and sorrow at the death of "Bill" [Lord William] Beresford; disagreement with Sir John Brodrick's dismissal of Major General [Henry] Colville and his appreciation for letters from "Jack" [John S Churchill]. Signed typescript with manuscript corrections. Envelope present.
