Scope and Contents

Letter from WSC ([Oldham, Lancashire] on the notepaper of 35A Great Cumberland Place) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he asks her whether she and Pamela [Plowden, later Lady Lytton] intend to come to [Oldham]. He explains that she has been asked to attend a meeting of the Primrose League Ladies and that the house is too small to accommodate maids for both her and Pamela. He asks her to remind Robson Rouse [Roose] to send him spray for his sore throat and says that he finds the air "most envigorating". Manuscript signed by WSC.
