Scope and Contents

Letter from WSC (4th Hussars [Bangalore], India) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] discussing: the harmlessness of his fifth letter [to the Daily Telegraph] and her objection to it; his disappointment at the errors which appeared in the seventh printed letter; his regret that Colonel [John] Brabazon will disapprove of his sentiments; his opinion of the "Forward Policy"; his progress with [an article] "The Scaffolding of Rhetoric" and his novel ["Savrola"] and a discussion of the ideas examined in the latter; and his pride at his conduct Envelope present. The letter is dated 14 October but its content suggest that it dates to November.
