Scope and Contents

Letter from WSC (Bangalore [India] on the notepaper of the 4th Hussars) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] including: his luck in not being killed when he was at the frontier; his opinion that his experiences made his life worthwhile; the Simla authorities' opposition to WSC's attachment to a regiment at Malakand [West Pakistan, now Pakistan]; and his low opinion of the Indian government and their actions at the frontier. He encloses three letters [not present] to the D[aily] T[elegraph] and says that he hopes that they are creating a good impression. Envelope present.
