Scope and Contents

Letter from WSC (Bangalore, [India]) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he asks her to use her influence regarding the possibility of his going to Egypt with [Sir Herbert Kitchener] and says that he has made an application to join the expedition. He discusses a visit to Calcutta [India] to watch horse races; comments on the long distances which are travelled in India; reports that he is arguing with [James] Welldon about Christian missions and that he is enjoying their correspondence.
