Letter from WSC (Trimulgherry, Deccan [India]) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he reports that his team won the polo tournament, comments on the amount of local interest in polo, and says that he would like her to take legal action on his behalf over an article by [Henry Dupre] Labouchere in Truth about WSC's activities regarding horse racing and explain his actions to [James] Welldon. He also describes a dinner with the Plowdens and a sightseeing visit with Pamela [Plowden, later Lady Lytton] and comments on his frustration with military life in India.
