Letter from WSC (Trimulgherry, Deccan [India]) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he reports that he has travelled to Secunderabad to play polo and has met Pamela Plowden [later Lady Lytton] whom he describes as "the most beautiful girl I have ever seen"; describes the independent city of Hyderabad; and discusses financial affairs and the possible outcome of a fraud perpetrated on them by [James] Cruickshank. He expresses his frustration with life in India and asks for letters of introduction to make his time worthwhile and expresses admiration for [5th] Lord Rosebery; makes observations on British politics and discusses arrangements [for a headstone to Elizabeth Everest] and the sale of a horse.
