Scope and Contents

Letter from WSC (Bangalore [India]) to "Jack" [John S Churchill] in which he thanks him for his letter; contrasts India with the United States in terms of costs and climate; asks him to send him the Strand Magazine and a copy of the Pall Mall Magazine containing a letter from him; says that he intends to collect butterflies and gives an account of polo. He also instructs "Jack" to work at Harrow, commenting "There are great pleasures in life - to those who know the Latin or the Greek tongues well".
