Scope and Contents

Letter from WSC (Gran Hotel Inglaterra, Parque Central, Havana, Cuba) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he describes his journey from New York [United States], says that he has met General Arderins with [Alexander] Gollan [Consul-General for Cuba] and comments that his letters [of introduction] ensure a "free pass everywhere". He speculates on the difficulty of the journey to the front and the lack of accurate information available. Two unbound typescript transcripts of the letter also contained in file CHAR 28/21.
