Scope and Contents

Letter from WSC ([Harrow School [Middlesex]) to "Mamma" [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he expresses his pleasure at receiving her letter and concern at the news about the health of "Papa" [Lord Randolph Churchill] from Dr Keith and the effect the news has had on "Grandmamma" [Frances, Duchess of Marlborough]. He also says that he would like to meet his parents in India and is not keen to go to Germany, and reports that he has made "an essay in journalism" and has written letters about proposals to close the Empire [theatre, London]. The second page of the letter is incorrectly numbered 32 and the third is unnumbered.
