Scope and Contents
Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (2 Connaught Place [London]) to [Lady Randolph Churchill] in which he expresses his sorrow at the news of "Daisy's" death and reports that he has employed a cook recommended by "Gaston" and that [Albert Edward, Prince of Wales] has invited him to dinner to meet "Harry" [Henry] Chaplin. Other issues referred to include: a meeting with [Elizabeth] Everest who has reported that [WSC and John S Churchill] are both well; a meeting with "Natty" [1st Lord Rothschild] and Castlereagh [6th Lord Londonderry]; controversy over the investiture of Lord Milltown and a conversation with "Joe" [Joseph] Chamberlain about Egypt.
