Letter from Lord Randolph Churchill (Government House, Calcutta [India]) to Lady Randolph Churchill] including: his reaction to the news that she intends to sell their house at 2 Connaught Place [London] and request that she should wait until his return before buying another one; a description of the hospitality he has enjoyed with [1st Lord] Dufferin [and Ava, Viceroy of India]; confusion created by contradictory Government instructions telegraphed to Dufferin; and Lord Randolph's intention to stay with the Maharajah and with Sir Alfred Lyall [Lieutenant-Governor of the Indian North West provinces].
