Scope and Contents
Minute from Norman Brook [later 1st Lord Normanbrook, Additional Secretary to the Cabinet] to [Leslie] Rowan [Prime Minister's Private Secretary] marked "Private" hoping that WSC will accept the suggestion of the Chancellor [of the Exchequer, Sir John Anderson, later 1st Lord Waverley] on releasing women from the services, and suggesting that the Cabinet was "pretty well convinced" that the Manpower Committee's proposals on demobilisation "went as far as the Services could be expected to go".
