Scope and Contents
Telegram from WSC to Prime Minister of Australia [Joseph Chifley] marked "Top Secret and Personal" acknowledging his telegram on Australian participation in the main operations against Japan; and proposing that Australia appoint representatives to meet British Force Commanders at General Douglas MacArthur's [Commander in Chief Philippines, Supreme Commander South West Pacific] HQ, and to take part in discussions in London on the reorganisation of the South West Pacific Area. [written when WSC was in Berlin, Germany; despatched after his return to Britain].
