Scope and Contents
Telegram from Alfred Duff Cooper [later 1st Lord Norwich, British Ambassador to France] to WSC marked "Secret" and "Personal" stating that he is not in favour of pursuing the question of General de Gaulle's [President of the Provisional Government of the French Republic] visit to London at that time; suggesting de Gaulle visit WSC if he holidays in France in the near future; and that Duff Cooper will be in Bordeaux [France] two weeks from then. Carbon copy.
