Telegram from Anthony Eden [later Lord Avon, Foreign Secretary] (Washington [United States]) to WSC describing a meeting with President Harry Truman: reporting that Truman will be unable to visit Europe before 1 July for a meeting with Marshal Stalin and WSC; Truman's desire to stand firm over Poland and Venezia Guilia [Italy]; discussions on the British and American armies in Europe remaining in their existing positions, growing difficulties with the Soviet Union, and the San Francisco [United States] Conference; and indicating Eden's favourable impression of Truman.
