Telegram from WSC to Anthony Eden [later Lord Avon, Foreign Secretary] (San Francisco [United States]) marked "Top Secret" and "personal" reiterating his view that Marshal Stalin, President Harry Truman and he need to meet to prevent "a great catastrophe"; reporting on Marshal Tito's [Premier of Yugoslavia (later Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia)] "breach of faith" over occupying disputed territories in north-east Italy; the Allied occupation of Denmark; the surrender of German forces in north-west Germany, Holland and Denmark; commenting on the prospects for a June General Election; stating that he needs Eden back in Britain; and remarking on the negative consequences of detailed publication of the Soviet arrest of a group of prominent Poles.
