Telegram from Prime Minister, WSC, to the Acting Prime Minister of New Zealand [Walter Nash] discussing the award of campaign stars including: service qualifications; the new Defence Medal for non-operational service; the possibility of extending the 1939-45 Star to the end of the Pacific War; and the decision that an exception should not be made for members of the New Zealand forces who fought in the Battle of the River Plate. He asks for [Nash's] reaction to these proposals as more than 10 million men are affected. Typescript.
