Telegram from Foreign Secretary [Anthony Eden, later Lord Avon] (Washington [United States]) to WSC marked "Top Secret and Personal" reporting on a meeting with President Harry Truman, Edward Stettinius [Secretary of State, United States] and Averell Harriman [United States Ambassador in the Soviet Union] on: Truman's intention of seeing Vyacheslav Molotov [Soviet Union Foreign Minister] immediately on his arrival at the White House; the importance of the Polish question and its effect on the success or failure of [the] San Francisco [United States, Conference]; a meeting between Truman and WSC; and reporting Harriman's assertion that Molotov should be "numbered amongst the unfriendly elements" in Moscow [Soviet Union].
