Telegram from Foreign Secretary [Anthony Eden, later Lord Avon] (Washington [United States]) to WSC marked "Top Secret and Personal" describing a conversation with Edward Stettinius [Secretary of State, United States] on their meeting with Vyacheslav Molotov [Soviet Union Foreign Minister]: emphasising their fears over the San Francisco [United States] Conference in light of Molotov's attitude to Poland; indicating that President Harry Truman has agreed to speak directly to Molotov if progress is not made; and suggesting the possible delay of the San Francisco Conference.
