Telegram from WSC to General Dwight Eisenhower [Supreme Commander Allied Expeditionary Force in Western Europe, United States Army] marked "Personal and Top Secret" repeating the text of a message from Harold MacMillan [later Lord Stockton, Minister Resident at Allied Force HQ, Mediterranean Command] to him hoping that no "political manoeuvres" stand in the way of operations by French forces in the north-west of Italy; and stating that he has told MacMillan that military considerations should outweigh political ones.
