Scope and Contents
Telegram from Field Marshal Sir Henry Wilson [Representative of the British Chiefs of Staff in Washington, United States] to WSC marked "Personal" passing on a message from General George Marshall [Chief of Staff United States Army] to WSC stating that the United States Chiefs of Staff will leave US air resources in Burma [later Myanmar] with Lord Louis Mountbatten [later Lord Mountbatten of Burma, Supreme Allied Commander South East Asia] until the fall of Rangoon [Burma] or 1 June, whichever is the earlier; but that after that date they will probably be needed for operations in the China theatre.
