Prime Minister's printed personal minutes, April 1945.Includes texts of minutes from WSC (annotated with additional printed information) to: senior civil servants, including Sir Edward Bridges [Secretary to the War Cabinet]; General Sir Hastings Ismay [Chief of Staff to the Minister of Defence]; Major-General Leslie Hollis [Military Assistant Secretary to the War Cabinet]; members of the Cabinet and other government ministers; the Chiefs of Staff; the Chief Whip [James Stuart]; Ralph Assheton [later 1st Lord Clitheroe, Chairman of the Conservative Party].Subjects covered by the minutes include: matters concerning the end of the war with Germany, including area bombing, strategic considerations with regard to the Soviet Union, and reparations; matters concerning Turkey, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Belgium, Sweden, Yugoslavia [later Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia], and Greece; the defence medal; British food production; relations with General de Gaulle [President of the Provisional Government of the French Republic]; the absence of ministers at the San Francisco [United States] conference; releasing information on flying bomb attacks; arrangements for the forthcoming election.
