Telegram from Secretary of State for the Colonies [Colonel Oliver Stanley] to the Duke of Windsor [earlier Edward VIII, Governor and Commander in Chief Bahamas] marked "Top Secret and Personal" stating that WSC has recommended that two sentences be removed from the press guidance to be issued when the Duke's resignation is announced, suggesting these might encourage criticism of the Duke; and informing him that William Murphy [Colonial Secretary in the Bermudas] has accepted the post as the Duke's successor.
