Scope and Contents

Telegram from Harry Hopkins [Special Adviser and Assistant to the President of the United States] (Rochester, Minnesota, [United States]) marked "personal and restricted" [regarding the death of President Roosevelt]. Hopkins informs WSC that he is leaving tomorrow to attend services in Washington [D.C.] and Hyde Park [New York], and states that, "All I know is that we have lost one of our greatest friends and the world its most outstanding champion of human freedom and justice". With single annotation in red ink, probably by WSC.
