Scope and Contents
Letter from Geoffrey Lloyd [Parliamentary Under-secretary in the Ministry of Fuel and Power] to WSC marked "confidential" informing him that Captain Philip Dunn (Chairman of the News of the World) "one of my oldest and most intimate friends" has just returned from America, stating that he wants to draw him into "our affairs", and asking if WSC would consider having him to lunch or seeing him one day. Lloyd ends by stating that the circulation of the News of the World is now 5,800,000. [Initialled typescript] Annotated in red ink by WSC.
