Text of letter from Harold Laski [Professor of political science at the University of London and member of the Executive Committee of the Labour Party] (Devon Lodge, Addison Bridge Place, W14 [London]) to WSC informing him that he is enclosing a copy of an article he has written for the Chicago Sun about President Roosevelt [see CHAR 20/198A/ 22-24], and stating that he has become the Acting Chairman of the Labour Party, "So may I say that whatever remarks I may make in this official capacity are only relevant in a Pickwickian sense to a man for whom, party aside, I have an inherited affectionate respect?".
