Scope and Contents

Typescript copy of note compiled by WSC reporting on his meeting with General Patrick Hurley [United States Ambassador to China]. He comments on their discussion about Hong Kong, about which WSC said that "never would we yield an inch of the territory that was under the British Flag". He also comments on their discussion over the question of the United States using Lend-Lease to prevent the British taking necessary action in the Middle East. He ends with his impressions of Hurley as "rather and old-world American figure". Carbon with annotation indicating that original has been filed in "Far East - Hostilities".
